Sougia is a small village at the south coast, in the east of Paleochora and 70 km from Chania.

A wide beach offers a lot of space. The people are living here, about 200, are living mostly from tourism and fishing. There are small ferryboats to Paleochora, Agia Roumeli and Chora Sfakion.

Roman ruins and the ancient city of Lissos are close. At the small road at the beach are some taverns and rooms. It becomes quite popular now.
