In the west of Heraklion and in short distance is located
Amoudara. The part close to Heraklion is the industrial- and shopping area,
the part in the west mostly for tourism. Taverns, hotels, bars, shops and
rental offices of every kind are here.
At the weekends the wide sandy beach is full of people
living in Heraklion. There is also a power station at the westend of the
beach.
It is easy to go by bus to Heraklion and other places
from here.
