The big mountain village of Anogia was destroyed more
than once in it's history. It is located 800m high on the way from the North
to the Psilorits (Ida). The village is divided in the upper and the lower
part. The resistance has a long tradition. Have
a look in one of the taverns or Kafenio to the old pictures. In the lower
part is more traffic and business. To take a break it would be better to go
to the upper village with some nice small taverns. Well known is also the
local cheese.
