Wouldn't be the ferry boat from the Samaria Gorge with many tourists every day and the busses they pick them up here, you could say it is a nice fishing village.

Connections to Loutro, Palaeochora and Gavdos from here by ferry boat. There is a very small beach inside the harbour with taverns, but a little bit outside is another stony beach, much better for a swim.

At weekends many people from Chania are coming with their sport boats, because a new harbour has been built.

Very beautiful the wild natur of Sfakia. Wanderer will enjoy long walks. From here you can go to Anopolis and Agios Ioannis. Also the ancient Phoenix is not far away.
