The village of Fodele, about 30 km west of Heraklion located, alleged to be the birth place of El Greco, the well known artist.

You will not find so many things remembering El Greco. The house and a memorial stone.

A church from the 14th centory is from interest. Unfortunately it is closed very often.

The village lies 3 km away from the sea. Fodele-beach with some hotels has been built near the National road and the beach.
