The scene of many rebellions and battles against the Turks, the historic
village of Laki, at 500 metres above sea level, is worth a stop.
Laki is located 24km southwest of Chania on the Chania - Fournes - Laki -
Omalos road. On the way from Chania to Omalos and the gorge
of Samaria you are passing by the village.
Any one of the taverns gives the visitor a magnificent view of the valley
below and the White Mountains.
