Between Rethimnon and
Heraklion, at the edge of the mountain
of Psiloritis, is located the village of
Margarites, with it's potteries.
Like in many other smaller villages, most of the locales
have left their houses and gone in the city to work
there.
The small alleys between the white houses and the
surounding area with the olivetrees are the ideal place to make some walks.
Some potteries are still working. They are producing mostly souvenirs and
less objects for daily usage.
