Preveli is a nice monastery, on the south coast of Crete. The older one is nearby.

Below the monastery is one of the most beautiful beaches of Crete. Unfortunaly even here the tourism has destroyed this picture. Now there are sunshades and sun beds. To go there you can walk from the monastery (about 20 minutes), take the boat from Plakias, drive with the car to the next bay and than walk (10 minutes) or walk from the Venetian bridge through the riverbed (3 km). Many busses are going to the monastery.
